List your biggest, hairiest, beastliest, most pain in the ass mod to remove HERE
For me, I just learned mine today. Removing Lamin-X taillight film.
Items needed: 1) One bottle of Goo Gone 2) One whole roll of Bounty paper towels (the good kind, not that cheap shit) 3) One pair of vinyl dishwashing gloves 4) One small pair of tweezers 5) The patience of all the Patron Saints. I thought I had it all figured out gents- I would simply peel up a corner GENTLY, and SLOWLY AND GENTLY peel the films off until they came off with no glue residue, much like my ghettotastic headlights a few months back. No such luck friends... here is what unfolded, in a most slow, painful, backbreaking, horrifying fashion. After 2 hours of rubbing and rubbing, and rubbing and rubbing (and sweating) and painstakingly plucking off the glue balls from the grooves where the taillights meet the body, I finally got about 98% of the glue off the taillights. I am sure the rest will come off in time (or when I next muster the strengh of 100 men to finish the job.) Please do me a huge favor- if I ever so much as MENTION tinting out my headlights and / or taillights for myself or anyone else on the forum for that matter, I give you full permission to cock punch me as hard as is humanly possible Anyone else have any "de-modding" horror stories to share? |

Haha yea I felt the same way when I removed the warning labels on my visors...did the second side with a blow dryer and it literally un-pealed itself.
Thanks man

If I ever have to remove anything...
UUC DSSR - put up quite a struggle while installing, even with my small hands Window trim vinyl - removed it once but took forever Exhaust - this would be a major pain in the butt Spoiler - removed it once and took a while to peel off all the 3M tape Can't think of anything else at the moment. |

Baked some pine tree sap on my paint then tried to remove using ineffective methods the I discovered rubbing alcohol and even then it's a very tedious and methodical process to get it all off.
Scratched my clear coat to hell but should buff out with a proper paint correction. |

Performance spoiler, applied with 3M tape.
Removed with lots of heat, goo gone, compound, and even wet sanding, and the marks from residue adhesive are still there. Compound and wet sanding done by a semi-pro with experience.

Well on mine, they are literally falling off due to using the sun shade. I'll probably take the rest off because I'll have to replace them anyways at some point
