335i brake intervals???

I bought a "Certified" 2007 335i and my service counter read approx 14k for both front and rear brake pads at 25k miles on the vehicle. I now have 38k on the vehicle and my counters now read 22k-front and 6k-rear. Is this normal? Shouldn't both counters be counting down??? The dealer says there's nothing abnormal with this but really!!! It only makes sense that after driving 13k miles, my miles to service would be less and not more, right??? Help, anyone???
