Where's CT?

I know it is lumped in with the Tristate folks, but isn't CT part of New England?

Anyone here know the reasoning? Just wondering.

Only Southwest CT is considered part of the tri-state area, 3 of its 8 counties. The other 5 are considered to be New England. Back when the early settlers were here the Connecticut river was a major thruway for commerce connecting VT, NH, MA, and CT.

Back in the 17th century, NYC had a claim that the SW portion of CT, Fairfield County, was a part of NYC, but the people living there wanted to be a part of CT so they let 'em.

I hate driving thru CT, idiotic drivers everywhere.

Wow, history lesson on E90Post...go figure
Rhode Island drivers are the worst...aggressiveness of MA drivers combined with hesitation of CT drivers...bad combination

Just don't tell the people east of new haven they live in New England.

Consider "tri state" in CT anyplace where you could reasonably commute to BK, Queens, or manhattan.

I think that stops at New Haven, others would argue New London.

If you live in Connecticut and are a Yankees fan then you are a New Yorker. If you are a Red Sox fan then you are a New Englander.

So please lets keep this forum to a Red Sox fan forum only. JK

Just wondering who here made the decision.

I do most of my traveling up North. If I were to run in to anyone from here, it would be in New England, which is where I live.

lol. I wondered the same thing when I noticed CT was in tri-state forum. I'm from CT originally (Bristol to be exact) and always considered myself a New Englander.

Then again, I've always been a Red Sox fan...

haha i always consider CT was part of NE, didn't realized E90post categorized them in the Tri-state region. I guess most people living closer towards NYC consider themselves part of the Tri-State area (but isn't the Tri-state, NYC, NJ, & PA )

so Tri-state area is also known as the New York metropolitan area which includes parts of PA, and goes up the Hudson Valley and eastward to New Haven, CT. The NY Metro rail lines are a good indicator of how far it extends...last stop on Metro north is New Haven. The Tri-state REGION is only NY, NJ, and CT.

I think CT is definitely a New England state. Lots of Red Sox, Patriots fans, and white clam chowdahs are good indicators. I know some CT yankees fans but they're idiots from New Haven.
