Most Expensive Compatible Phone?
Yes, I am materialistic, and yes i like to have expensive things you can feel free to call me names.
Right now i have a p910. i love it. it works well with the car, BUT it wont transfer the phone book. so i cant use more then half the features of the car. so i want a new phone. i would like something comparable or better to my p910 but its gonna have to be something sweet. what do you guys use? if you feel like you have a way sweet phone, tell me about it. if you have an average phone, i probably wont care. hahah. sorry. i have been looking at the s710, which i heard works perfectly, and it seems to be a great phone, but the fact that its 200+ dollars cheaper then my phone, mentally, i will feel like im taking a step down, even though the phone has a lot of great features, some BETTER then my phone

I have the new Sony W800i and it works perfectly and its realllllllly sweet!! Bought it back home in Hong Kong...equivalent price is ~$400...more expensive than my old p900 which I traded in for ~$200 for this phone. the p900 doesnt work at all with the car...

i know the p900 doesnt work at all. cause it doesnt have a handsfree profile or something like that. the p910 has the profile. but something about the obex files isnt right or something like that. thats why the p910 will let me make and take calls, but it doesnt show the number, wont let me scroll through the phonebook, etc.
i like the w800. and i think if i didnt have an ipod, i would probably have the w800. and im glad to know it works perferectly, that means sony ericsson is correcting whatever problem there was, but im not sure if i wanna trade my 910 for a mp3player/phone.

i will probably do the same thing and get the next p. i saw a sneak shot and it was a real bad picture but i dont like the way it looks at all. there is rumors it wont have any flip and it will have a full keypad jjust like the treo, and i would HATE that. there is a rumor that the p950 somehow wont be the "successor" it will just be ANOTHER p in the line up. and then an even better phone will come out to "replace" the 910. but who knows.
im excited to see what they come out with.

I'm sure you've probably seen this > http://www.bmwtransact.com/bluetooth...ble_Phones.htm <
I'm also guessing there are some that do work that are not on the "offical" list. |

so i should be excited about this next P that you saw, or am i gonna be disappointed?

I use a Cingular Treo 650, which works great with the bluetooth in my 330i. The only catch is that it doesn't download all of the contacts to the car. Instead it downloads any number stored as a speed dial favorite. There is enough room for about 50-60 speed dial numbers on this phone.
In a way, I am glad that it doesn't download all the contacts. Not only would this download take forever to complete, but it would be a pain to scroll through my 400 or so contacts while driving. I should also add that the call log, recieved calls, etc. all download to the car with no problems. I have even been able to use voice commands to dial my speed-dial numbers. If you are looking to spend a lot of money, get an unlocked version for about $650. Michael

I have the S710a and I am loving it. Dont think of it has a downgrade because its a different class phone. If you use your current phone as a day-planner, keep it. I use it for listening to MP3s, take movies and pictures, and of course just talking. |

vertu... man, that would be incrediable. maybe i will sell the BMW and buy 2. wait, thats not a great idea.
i wanna see an 8800 in real life. they look nice. i hate the treo. if you like it, thats sweet and all, technically, im not smart enough to know if the treo or the 910 is better and has more functions, but i HATE the way it looks.

In response to the looks of the phone, that really wasn't a concern of mine. I was looking more toward functionality. I was already using a palm for many of the applications I use in my line of work. This allowed me to condense a palm and separate cell phone into one unit (which really isn't all that larger than a basic cell phone). If only I could get rid of the pager. Michael

One of the major complaints with the phone from others is the low earpiece volume. There are options to hack the phone to increase the factory set volume range. |
