I'm looking into purchasing a 2007 bmw 328i sedan. I've read quite a few threads from quite old to current and confused slightly with the audio upgrade stuff.
I'm looking to retain the oem headunit and purchase audio equipment. I really wanted to see if this below would work? I have an amp (mcintosh mcc224) that I was going to use and purchase a set of 4" components for the front doors as well as 4" coaxials for the rear doors. All of this would be tied in using the jbl ms-8. I saw the list of speakers that would fit so will probably purchase the morel dotech ovation and morel tempo 4" drivers for the rear doors. I really don't want to run a sub. Most of my reading showed the coupes to have a sub underneath a seat. Does the sedan have any factory subs? I'm basing all of this off of the base audio equipment not hifi nor anything else. Thanks in advance for any help.

There are lots of examples of systems in the threads in this section .

If its the high fi system in and 07 people replace the the speakers under the floors (front seats)with sw8's and the speakers you are suggesting for the doors and add a 4 or 6 channel amp . Adding a processor is an option. The ms8 doesn't have a lot of power out for high end speakers.

US 07's have either the 10 speaker hi fi system or Logic 7

Also the 07 system for HI Fi is component pairs for both doors(front and rear doors or rear deck) and passenger underseat speakers.
