Dr.Segler's M6 Coupe.

Dr. Segler's M6.

Jon Sibal has worked on a interpretation of the next generation M6.

M6 Coupe like 1M is a Segler car, the forthcoming M5 was initiated before he took over the reigns.

That accounts for the sharper edges within the aerodynamic packet of the
1M Coupe and M6 Coupe. As well as helping with cooling and downforce it also brings a new sharper visual appearance to the M cars with the M3 and future 1M as well as Z4M all set to benefit from the new edgier look.

"The brief for the next M6 Coupe is to make the car less an M5 Coupe and make it stand out more from within the shadow of the M5.

The reason for this is the Gran Coupe which will arrive as an M Variant in early 2014"
To have two four doors doing the same thing is entirely confusing to the customer.
The new M6 Coupe will have it's own attributes and characteristics in order to challenge established rivals from Porsche , Audi , Bentley , Aston Martin , Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz.

The new M6 Coupe will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.The M6 Cabrio will follow later in 2012. M6 Gran Coupe will arrive in late 2013.
A Possible M6 Shooting brake is on the cards.

Hate to say it, but you could almost just put a tri-star emblem on it.

The current E63/64 M6 is simply gorgeous, this one is even better. Yet another unreachable car for me.

What's the difference between the M6 Gran Coupe, and the M6 Coupe?

I like it. I was going to say we need SCOTT in here to tell us what he thinks about accuracy of this rendering but it was him who posted it I like the sharper edges and it stands out a lot.

Not a fan of the render at all. Tries way too hard.

I forget who I was arguing with in the last 6 series thread, but here's some goddamn proof I was right in that the last 6er was basically a 2-door 5er. Coming from Segler himself.

If you look at the BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe which of course is more or less what the production car will look like.

You can see how the car at the front is very pushed forward especially with the intakes and how the car has become more edgier than the previous E63 M6 Coupe.

What the artist has done is enhanced on that thinking by rendering how the M car will look and he has an almost exact representation of how the car will appear especially in regards to the lower aerodynamics which you see on the production car how wide and large they are for the standard V8 650i Coupe.
Well M engines need a lot more air as does their brakes for optimum cooling, so it will see an increase in height and width with the aerodynamics.

And like the 1M Coupe. M6 Coupe is a Dr.Segler car so beginning with the 1M we will see a progress in typical M design and aerodynamics. M6 Coupe will be the epitome of this new visual look, that will be carried over to the M3 and next generation 1M models and whatever comes between these two future models.

A Z4M is inevitable - The 1M dies by 2012 as does the M3 by mid 2012.
The M5 will be available as it joins the X5M and X6M with the M6 Coupe coming later in 2012. This leaves nothing for the compact-medium segment for M Division. The same problem when the previous car was introduced , the M3 was just about dead and nothing to support the larger M5 and M6 models.

That is why the talking about a Z4M is getting louder again.
It wont be a V8 though - That engine dies with the M3.
Discussion lies with the idea of recooperating short-term development investment with the powerplant devised for the 1M Coupe.
This will help BMW recover development costs of the short-term units of the 1M Coupe.

The front end looks more like a tuner kit than an OEM car, little too aggressive.

Do you mean E9x M3 production stopping sometime in the middle of calendar year 2012, say in the summer?

That would mean the MY2012 would be the last unless there was an incredibly short MY2013.

, but...

Base photo has to be an M3 coupe. Roof line and rear quarters are too similar, plus car looks too small for the expected 6 series dimensions.

I like the render, but it does appear to be what the next M3 should be like, (with rhinoplasty to fix that front overhang in the center, of course), not the M6.

The base photo used for the illustration was the 6 series concept.

The changes I made in the base were:
- The front bumper features larger side intakes with a smaller central intake.
- The front bumper side intake features a “Slit” design similar to the Gran Coupe Concept and the 1M Coupe.
- The fenders are wider front and rear compared to the 6 series concept.
- The side vent where the light bar is located features a vent that slopes downwards.
- The side Mirrors have been updated from the 6 series concept.
- The kidney grill surrounds are thicker than the 6 series concept
- The kidney grill slats are blacked-out as well as the window trims (shadowline)
