Good driving roads near Phoenix?
Does anyone know of any good mountain roads near Phoenix (east valley) that they would recommend? I've been getting frustrated with work lately and really just want to take a morning or afternoon to take the car out and enjoy my car and the desert.

Although this drive isn't what the OP is looking for (a quick fix in the east valley). I live in the west valley, so I'm not much help there. |

Tortilla Flats is sick...I also like to run the Phoenix 500. Depending on where you start from, it may not work. I start in Chandler, on the 101N and take it to the 60W, then the 10E back to the 101 loop. Also the drive from the 10 to Maricopa is descent. Good for long straight line blasts.

The Pavillions is too played out now for my blood. Too many 17 year olds w/ their Hondas. A cruise would be cool though. Maybe meet at Vivid and roll the Phoenix 500....the 101 to the 60 to the 10 back to the 101....

I'm located in Tucson and Mt. Lemon is a great twisty and windy road. My last e46 m3 and I had a great time doing that run. Just got the 1er, looking to see how large of a difference it will be.

Power Rd to Bush hwy, then back through either Usery Pass rd (which becomes Ellsworth...shorter drive) or continue on to Beeline hwy back towards Mesa...that's my quick "decompress" drive.
