So I got my very 1st "engine 1/2 full" light...

...well at least that's what it looked like to me Never had a check engine light before in the 335 and was very surprised to see that thing pop up on the dash as soon as I started the car last night. Of course initial reaction is PANIC until I remember it's still under warranty thank geebus. Wifey drove the car during the day and of course was oblivious to the check engine light and the fact that there was 0 boost. In my short trip to Taco bell after the game I noticed right away that the car was feeling weak and the BOV was not sounding, so obviously there's a vacuum leak of some kind. Stopped in the TB parking lot, popped the hood, hissing sound like a mofo! Very front left of the car has some kinda soda can sized vacuum sensor device (don't ask me) which has a vacuum hose going to the top of it that's leaking air. As I wiggle around the hose the leak stops but then continues when I let go. Also the device itself is making a funny noise when the car is off. I figure it's not a big deal, but we shall see tomorrow at the dealer.

anyone else experience this with their 335? Common issue? Just curious.

Had a similar issue with mine yesterday morning. Go to start the car and get wild fluctuations in RPM while idling. The yellow limp mode engine light came on. I let it idle for a minute and then shut it down. As soon as the engine stopped, the engine was making a noise similar to a fan running. That lasted about 20 seconds and then stopped

I started the car up about a minute later and things seemed fine.

I called my SA and the car is going in next week to have the code checked. They're also installing the BMW performance exhaust while it's in the shop!

I'll post next week after I get their diagnosis.

You are very optimistic, you could have thought the engine was half empty.

It doesn't matter... the solution is still simple: refill the engine.

It has to be in Litres. These engines only take metric fluid.

howie might have issues with that BOV. Please report back on what the dealer says - my dime (unfortunately) says that the dealer will deny warranty service.

they tried to tell me that BMW might not warranty my repairs and all that nonsense...they supposedly sent pictures to BMW and had to "bargain" with them to cover the repairs under warranty.

Car will be done today. Replaced some fuel sensor, repaired vacuum leak, replaced the rubber seal top of the windshield under warranty!

VOID my arse!!!
