Non-Heated seat Conversion
Hello.
I am in a bit of a dilemma. My cars leather seats were recently damaged due to some individuals I had in my car. I am ready to replace the interior with new seats. I have seen the Recaro Performance race bucket seats but I like the option to heat my rear end in the winter. Which brings me to my issue. I purchased my car with the Dakota Black leather, with Sports Package, Automatic, and Heated Option. I have found a set of new seats which are Sports Package, Automatic, but lack the heated seats option. I was wondering if there is a way to convert the Non-Heated seats into heated. I would love to tear into the seats to explore, but I will be trading with another member so I don't want to damage either set. |

I'm pretty sure the heating element is woven into the bottom and the back of the seat, so I seriously doubt that the seats can be converted cost effectively (considering the heated seat option only sells for about $500 on a new car).

A friend of mine had seat heaters installed in a vehicle that came without them. The installation was done in an afternoon and I'd say they work better than my oem product (in a Silverado pickup). The units had high, low and off settings and the switches were of the rocker variety. Cost for 2 front seats - about $500.
