Car just died ...

So I'm driving home from Wags and Waves ... awesome day at the water park with the dog. Sitting at a stop light and the a/c starts getting really really warm !!! I start looking around to find out why its warm. Light turns green and I hit the gas. Nothing. Look down ... the car just friggin died !!! I didnt even feel the car stop running. RPMs at 0. Push Start and it fired right back up ... but WTF !!!

No MIL, no alarms, no nothing ...

I had driven maybe half a mile. Probably wasn't even at operating temp yet. Car has 1100 miles.

Ideas ?

My last N55 barely made it 2000 miles before BMW repurchsed it ... that things scarey on the highway !!!

I'm scheduled for a dealer visit next week ... just curious if this symptom matched any known issues.

sounds like you need to take it in for a preemptive HPFP replacement.

the previous car was a rocketship. you move to the passing lane and hit the pedal (i mean hit it, not lean in to it) and about 30-40% of the time there would be a 4-5 second countdown then all heck would break loose and the car would LAUNCH !!! like scarey launch ... I came close to being rearended a couple of times because i pulled out in front of people and also came close to hitting people from behind because the car took off like a rocket. never got a code, MIL, etc. But a tthe point they started working it, the car had already been in the shop for 3 weeks for other issues. I had only owned the car for 2 months at that point.

It did prove that the N55 is no joke from a roll !!!

I can deal with mechanical issues and failures ... its the electrical stuff that irritates mean beyond belief.

no ... at the end of every season, the local "chain" Hawaiian Falls allows dogs on the last weekend. Today was Garland, tomorrow is in The Colony. The wave pool was awesome ... just like hunting in the south bay in Port Aransas.

They would not let me go down the slide with her though ... she was really disappointed
