You shoud PM udubbadger and solicit advice from him. He doesn't cruise the general forum often so he may not be seeing these. He just recently traded in his 328 for a 135 but had his 328 very well modded. He is extremely knowledgable and willing to help. He also has a really good handle on where to get stuff at good prices.

I like how you spelled it 2 different ways in the same sentence.

I ask the questions you're afraid to ask.

After each one of your proposed mods, write a sentence describing why you want to do that mod. Be specific. Don't say "improve performance" but cite specifics like "adding a short shifter will improve my shifts. I've decided on xyz brand because they are cited as being the best in the following threads ______________ ________________ and ______________" Then, identify specific advantages and disadvantages of that mod. Most of your sentences will read "because it will improve the appearance of _______" - a perfectly fine reason but some will conclude "to lighten my wallet" - a bad reason. Going through this drill will force you to do your research. You'll end up with your personalized car and you will save money to boot. Many of your mods are merely those that you've read about as being "good" but you'll just end up with an unreliable car that will throw codes constantly. For example - and let's wait for the OP to answer this please - what will a chip do for your 328? |

I understand your point...he doesn't know enough to know what he doesn't know, which is why I told him to solicit solid advice from someone who has been in his shoes (even if he thinks he is a spelling instructor suddenly).
The OP has been willy nilly for several days now...but he is slowly coming around. This list was a good start and so is your advice. Hopefully he heeds it before he compounds his rash car buying mistake (not getting the car he really should have gotten because he was impatient) by making even more expensive mistakes trying to fix the first one.

Yeah, that's cool, and we may seem a bit harsh but we are just being honest with you. Trying to keep you from making mistakes we have seen others make or made ourselves. At least you are doing the right thing by asking first. Now what you do with the information is up to you.
