Car stalls and gives Malfunction in Navi window???
Need some help here guys. I just turned on the car, waited a minute and started to back up, next thing you know, the car stalled and there was this message in the Navi display about Malfunction in the Gear that you are in. Please take vehicle to service dealer. Something along the lines of that. It also have a picture of a car on a lift(orange/yellowish) color. I took it to the dealer and they didn't do jack except wash the car for me. That happened a couple of days ago. Just today, Im driving home from work and I look down and see Service Engine Soon. Car seems fine. A few days before that, I was driving and the BMW Navi screen, turned off and came back on, it sort of rebooted itself. I don't know if any of these things tie in together, but has anyone experienced the stalled car and message problem? Or the Service Engine Soon light? It's a 328xi coupe.

Definitely not normal, especially on a 328. How many miles on the car? Could be any number of things, but it sounds like you need to return to the dealer and (politely) ask them to remove head from ass.

Lol, yeah exactly. The car has 40k miles. I'm definitely swinging by the dealer tomorrow morning. I just wanted to get some insight into this before hand.
