The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get anything. If you didn't imply you might want her to pay for something, it might be hard now without evidence to prove she hit you...

i.e. if you don't have a police report, it's kind of just a he said/she said thing (assuming you're a dude).

I would get the price of the bumper being repainted and have her pay half. I'm from NY, so if somebody hit my bumper, I'd be sure to get the police to issue a ticket and then hold that over them if they didn't cough up some damage money, even if I wasn't going to get it repaired, they caused damage and are liable. I'd be very pushy about it if I knew someone hit my car... so many times people get away with it.

I hit a guy's bumper in Brooklyn with our moving van, took some paint off the bumper, cracked the tail light; left a note, a month later I got a call and I paid the guy cash like 500$, he replaced the light, but he didn't get the bumper repainted. I made him sign a simple note saying that I wasn't liable for any more damages and that I paid him. May not mean much in court, but was sufficient for my purpose.

I was going to say something to that extent, but really... let's be honest, and this is a mainly guy's board. You ain't getting $hit from this lady besides money; no way it has ever happened that an accident turned into an orgy. So put that thought out of your mind. It's like meeting a chick on the subway; it just doesn't happen, don't even bother. When it comes down to equality, everybody's just a person, and living with some very angry middle aged women, they need to treat you like a person and don't cave into women pressure.

Of course I'm never opposed to pics either

You have to live with her. Just let her know so she will be careful next time, if it happens again tell her she needs to get it repaired.

Just don't wanna be that bmw owner dick living next door that complained about a scratch. I usually let it go, but this time bumper was scratch free. Neighbor saw her backing into me, he even helped her to get out from parking space because she just couldn't. I am sure I am not her first victim.

that sucks man.
How do you know it was her, if she hit your car and just brush it off like nothing happens that's borderline hit-and-run?

I saw her hit my car out of my window. She got out looked at the car and kinda took off. I came out looked at the car and didn't see anything....car was dirty and it was raining...

Now I got to work, washed the bumper and I see even more damage.

Will probably report to police if I dont find her....

I love it how people think it's ok to bump into cars while parking or whatever. A friend of mine told me that it's not a big deal to bump into cars while trying to park. He then bought a brand new supra and I asked him what would he do if someone bumped his bumper. He finally understood. Why can't people understand without actually being in the same position (that we love our cars and we don't want anyone to damage them in any way).

No way I'd let it go even if this girl was smokin hot. What she did was hit and run. She doesn't care about you or your car. Have the police run her plates and get her to pay up.

I had only had my 335i for a month when I was stopped at a light, everybody all around me was stopped, and the woman behind me slipped or spaced out and tapped my bumper at 0mph. I got out in the rain and checked it (everybody watching me to see if I was going to road-rage her) and when I didn't see anything, I told her to just slow down and be more careful.

I later saw a slight depression and dimple in the bumper cover that wasn't there before... but I bought the car used and the bumper had a mark or 2 already. My buddy offered to do a wholesale professional invisible repair for $300 but I'm not sure that it is that important that my 2 year old car be 101% perfect.

Try and see if you can buff the damage out. I know, you shouldn't have to, but the reality of the situation is simply that trying to get her to pay you out of the principle of it may really turn out to be more of a pain in the ass than you really want to deal with.

IMO, no don't let it go. Last year, one of my dad's patients hit the back bumper on his 5-series with no apparent damage, so he let i go. About 6 months later, a foot long crack developed in the exact same spot that was hit. Just because there is no evident damage (aside from scratches) now, doesn't mean problems will not appear in the future. Just my .02 ....

Not gonna see much on pictures. Typical small scratches from white bumper. Under certain angle u can see the imprint.

I am still thinking if I should report this. Maybe will wait and see if she actually lives here or just some visitor. Maybe have her pay the deductible

Hmm sounds like you didn't get a police report...good luck with getting anything from her insurance.
