My 08 E90 went into limp mode coming home from work this afternoon.....

Parameters:

Outside temp 90.
13k miles.
Oil changed 1 month ago, level checked good.
Temp normal.
Gas 3/4 full.
No long cranks previously ever.
No sputtering.
Speed 49 mph just cruising.


I would have never known it was in limp mode at all if the light did not come on. Pulled over shut it off, turned it back on.....Light went away. I guess I'll drive it tomorrow and see what happens.

Had this happened along with wastegate rattle, dealer replaced turbos

I've heard about that as well, but no rattle whatsoever. The car is as awesome and quiet as it ever was. Did your limp mode keep coming back?

Used to get limp mode once a week or something....haven't gotten it yet since new turbos, but its been only 2 weeks

Codes were 3100 and 30ff. After restart, limp mode went away....
