Wow... Haha. "financially unstable, low self-esteem" Yeah that sounds like somebody who owns a 30-50K dollar car! NOT

I drive a BMW because I have low-self esteem and no one loves me. Yeah ok, seems like the writer on has a thing against BMW drivers. And if I was financially unstable I sure as fuck couldn't afford a BMW.
Maybe a BMW driver fucked this dudes girlfriend. |

I can see the aggressive and rebel to a small extent in myself, but poser and can't afford the car no way. I paid my car off in 9 months and am very financially stable. If I were a poser, then I'd be living outside my means. I can see some of the points making sense, but this isn't geared toward people that think of cars as a passion as most people on here. For those that could care less or are not enthusiest then maybe the article is slightly true.

Wow its funny how none of you guys know how to read.
1st half of the BMW section Quote:
2nd Half Quote:
Can you guys see how that 2nd half of the article does not refer to us? The E90/2 are obviously luxury cars and sports cars. The author must be referring to people who buy cheaper "sports" car that offer some bogus sense of "luxury" like the Mustang, Genesis Coupe, Camaro, 370z, etc. With that said, its still a pretty lame article. |

Of the 4 cars I've owned, (3 still own) this is what the colors say about me.
"Aggressive personality, rebel" "Introspective, reflective, and cautious" "Someone who is full of energy and pizzazz" "Contained and controlled" Hmmmmm. |

With all those different personality traits, you might want to seek professional treatment and get on some meds or something.

The stuff the writer uses to base her findings are actually used in real business to try and simplify people into groups. in fact companies spend a lot of effort into fitting people into these groups.
i wouldn't go so far as calling it all bs. our experiences are probably going to be different when compared to the general populace. from my own experience: the color black is fairly accurate. i also think the color white is fairly accurate. these aren't really judgment calls and i don't take it personally. so maybe i aggressively seek status (these were different cars, i don't drive a panda)... if that's the case better get off these forums. the suv, minivan, pickup seems to be true fairly accurate as well. |

Its just over generalize what kind of people who drives BMW...or any other brands...
The study took too much exception of various model line-ups, discounts offered, etc etc... I've been many soccer moms driving either 328i or even M5 around SoCal....its kind of like horoscope, just a very subjective article.

Keep in mind guys that most of us are enthusiasts and not the general public that doesn't see cars the way most of us do. If all you care about is turn key and go then we wouldn't be here. Now with that said, if it's the general public then maybe some of these traits could be found in the cars owners. People think what they want to think and some friends thought I bought a BMW because I wanted status. Truth is that it's one of the only AWD smaller sedans that has a force fed 6 cylinder with great aftermarket potential which is what I was looking for.

Totally agree. While it's important car makers know who they're making cars for, it's more important they make good cars/trunks. I think it's funny when they get it wrong on the marketing side. The honda element was initially marketed as a vehicle for young people with a sort of rebellious attitude, but they ended up selling many to baby boomer's for it's utility/efficiency combination.
