Airbag and Seat Belt Lights

Hi everyone, ive recently changed my original cloth front seats for the leather "m" seats, but in doing this the airbag and seat belt warning lights have come on and continuously stay on, does anyone know why these have come on?

The connector plug for the seats fitted straight into the car plug.

Any info is appreciated,

Thanks

Someone suggested disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, to reset the ecu, anyone else heard of this as a solution?

Hi Andy, I done the exact same thing yesterday and am getting the same error, did you ever get it sorted? Did a disconnect of the battery work?

I swapped half electric interior for half electric leather, so it is like for like.

Thanks
Kevin

This happened to me about 6 months ago. Turned out to be the module ontop of the battery. It contains a charge that separates the battery cable if you get in an accident. It allows certain circuits to retain power ( door locks, windows, Hazard lights etc.) Whichever one powered something in the srs system went bad in mine. I also worked on aanother e90 that had a bad passenger weight sensor in the seat. Jus food for thought.

if you didnt unplug the battery while you switched seats you would have thrown a code.

you need a dealer or reset tool to reset the code.

you must ALWAYS disconnect the battery before removing seats, or airbags. DO NOT RECONNECT THE BATTERY UNTILL THE AIRBAG CABLES ARE PLUGGED BACK IN!!
disconnecting the battery for 30 mins will not reset the airbag light. you have to have special tool in order to reset the srs system.
I have a tool for sale that can do this.
pm me
