another suspension ? for the pros
i have finally (after a full day of reading old post) made my decision but have one last dilemma. im going to redo my suspension, so i bought the dinan performance bushings witch i think will make a more noticeable improvement then the the rest of the suspension put together. my question is should i replace the strut bearings also, i have 70k on the car, and dont know how long these parts last if they last 140k normally i will leave them alone. any suggestions will be welcome. thank you.

the ones at tischer were $140 more because the also came with front tension struts and i already spent alot, im sure the dinans are the same as m3. so if they were cheaper i would have got them. but how about those strut bearings any input?

I would change out the strut bearings if there are signs of excessive deflection or tearing in the rubber. In the tri-state area due to all the bad roads I like to change them around 50k. They take a real beating combined with coilovers or lowering springs.

The M3 front control arm kit would be a good idea as those take a good beating from daily driving. Plus they are very soft and have a lot of deflection to begin with. On the strut bearings, if there is any signs of rust, wear or play, replace it. |

Also look for signs of tearing in the rubber of the top hats. I had a slight line where it looked like it could be coming apart and 2 weeks later the tophat broke in two.

this is a misconception, i have researched all the websites i could find that sell the m3 suspension parts. tischer is cheaper but the kit they sell combines the contol arms and the tension struts so you pay more but get more. as for hpa it is actually $40 more then dinan for the same parts.

Agreed, Dinan's price on the bushings is close enough. If I don't find something immediately on Tischer's site, I always give up, not worth hunting for hours to save a few bucks.

hpa's website now has the subrame bushings for $250 which brings their price lower then dinan. hats off to those guys for being competitive.
