Soft Brake Pedal
I'm really frustrated! The local BMW dealer changed the brake fluid nearly two weeks ago and the car has been back three more times because of a "soft" brake pedal. The first time back the mechanic acknowledged that there was air in the lines. On the last trip back, the shop foreman road with me so he could experience the issue. He acknowledged that the brake pedal had to be pushed further than the loaner car they gave me. He supposedly flushed the system and put in new brake fluid. The car still has the "soft" brake pedal. The brakes were just fine until they changed the fluid. I have had three different loaners through this whole disaster and none of them had a "soft" brake pedal.
By "soft" I mean you have to push the pedal further and harder for the same braking response compared to how there were before the brake fluid change. My opinion is that there is still air trapped in the fluid. Is it difficult to bleed the system myself, although I shouldn't have to because the car is under warantee yet? What do I do now? Any suggestions? |

Don't bleed it yourself if you've never bled brakes before. The dealer should fix it. If they can't take it to another dealership.

Do you see fluid anywhere? Maybe they forgot to tighten a bleeder nipple?
