Changed my rear side sunshade
My daughter broke mine a while back. Here's some pics.

I didn't want to post in DIY, I don't have a tutorial, just pics...

So you couldn't pull the shade up and down anymore?

No, look at the 5th pic, the loop for one of the hangers broke and wasn't holding up the shade properly. Not a big deal, but I have OCD problems...

Not hard at all and I never removed the door panels on this car. The hardest part was removing the piece that covers the actual shade because I there are no screws holding it in, I had to find all the places where it snapped in. There are no screws holding the actual roller shade in either, just clips.

Things are better and improving so all is not lost. Are you talking about the hooks on top of the door? The shade part only came by itself, no extra hooks.

that would be cool if you can retrofit that into place...i wasn't able to get that option on my car...the dealer didn't have one with the sunshades.....if its possible to do it on my car, i might have to get it done...

Strange!
I am doing the retrofit on a 2011 that came with shadeless door panels. It seems for the E9x vehicles some door panels have the shade housing (and shade) glued directly to the door card but other vehicles like yours have the shade clipped to the door frame with the housing for the shade hanging off the clips and the door card just clipping into the frame and covering the entire shade assembly like a sandwich!

The hooks are a pain. I can't believe they aren't just part of the trim. BMW attached them with these easy to lose metal clips.
