HID fogs throwing code

I just installed my HID h11 with DDM's resistor and my fogs turned on and it the car threw a code, and now my fogs wont turn on at all.

What should i do? Is the fogs not turning on anymore normal since its connected to the HID?

Did you get the error cancellers with them?

They didnt work. Turns out i had reverse polarity.

But now my driver side fog wont turn on at all, could it be a blown fuse?

You may have blown the capacitor if you had the polarity reversed.

If your car was built pre March 07 (you can find this on your drive side kick panel when your open your drive side door, it is a black sticker with white writing) it requires a full upgrade harness and resistors to cancel out the errors.

If he had a blown capacitor his lights would still come on but flicker, capacitors for HIDs run parallel with the power wires, so if they blow power still goes through, but the capacitor does not give it the boost of power it needs to one cancel out the error, and two give more juice to the HIDs.

The problem is some of those so called "error cancelers" are just capacitors, capacitors give a certain amount of resistances making the car think there is a bulb in place, it works for most of the newer cars, but the older ones require much more resistances to cancel out the error and/or not let the car cut power to the lights.

I think most likely in this case, his Ballast gave out, you should attempt to warranty the ballast with DDM, and give it another shot! If your car is Pre 03/07 build, you are going to need much more then just an error canceler.

Good luck!

I just ordered the DDm Slim Kit (should be receiving it tomorrow) an dI am planning on pairing it with a set of error cancellers from JLevi. My e90 is a pre march build. Will this setup still show up errors??

If you guys need kits I have a few I got from a wholesaler early on. I figured I would buy a couple and test them out for the forum but never got around to making a thread.

These are actual Canbus and Error Free HID... not some make-shift DIY stuff. ITs plug and play.

Just PM me
