On E46' gauge mods and overlays became faily common

Anyone done any mods to their gauges?

somebody, long ago, changed the light color of the gauges from BMW orange to VW blue. That's all I've seen so far.

those overlays are shiny and really cheapen the look of a bmw IMO. Go to www.bimmian.com and check.

I've seen it done on e36s, but realistically, the stock color is better overall for your eyes during the night

and if you want parts from bimmian, I also get stuff from them, so if you need anything from them let me know and I can help you with it
