My 2011 x5 35i STANDARD

The standard version of 2011 x5 worked well for me because I didn't want roof rails, didn't want running boards, prefer the leatherette for cleaning purposes, and knew I was going to change the wheels out soon - and the price was great.

Took delivery a couple weeks back but wanted to make a few minor mods before posting any pics. Finally found a local guy with the 300M x6m reps and put them on today. Makes a huge difference from those 18"ers.

Changes are: Painted Reflectors (IND), Titanium Grill, Window Tint (35% complete), Debadged the side (not sure about the back yet), added fender flares front and back, and of course the 300m's.

Love the ride so far, coming from a 3 series but starting a family now so this gives me a lot more room and handles amazingly well.

Thanks man... Actually in real life they look visually different from the OEM (reps are shinier), but unless you see them side by side, you probably wouldn't know.

The M wheels are forged.

Are the reps forged or cast? Makes a big difference weight wise.

Thanks YS! Pretty good deal around $1,800 for everything (wheels/tires/TPMS/mount/balance/install). The vendor is local to me so I drove to his shop and he put them on.

I think they might be cast but weight difference from OEM was very slight. There is someone on xoutpost I think who did a comparison but can't find the post right now. They drive nicely without noticeable drag.

Very nice! Are those OEM fender flares? They look like it. If so, where does one get them and what kind of cost are we looking at? I was figuring I could upgrade the wheels as well, since the stuff on the "sport activity package" is hardly sporty, other than the seats. And the multi-contour seats can be ordered seperately on the 35d.

I like your idea of a basic model. This is, after all, still an SUV. It will be my wife's ride, but at some point the layers of luxury start to make me feel uncomfortable. I want one for the handling, comfort, and looks. Not a vehicle I'm afraid to put the dogs into.

If I can talk her out of her fancy options this would be a nice route to go. Save $5,000 or so for other things in life. I bet 99% of people (non enthusiasts) would never know yours didn't cost $70K. Those wheels blow away what I see on most used ones for sale. (the basic 18's usually)

Yup they are OEM flares. I bought them from Keshav (keshav23@yahoo.com), about $320 (approx, can't remember exact). Quite a few people on here have bought from him and I can vouch, he's legit - just PayPal him and he'll send the parts.

Agreed, that's where the leatherette shines as well, super easy to clean up and looks new after 4-5 years with just some soap and water.

You're exactly right, most people I talk to think the cost is much higher. And many non-enthusiast think it's an ///M because of the rims. I would never ///M badge it tho, that's way cheezy.

Those rims look GREAT on the X5. Never really cared for them on the 3 series.
My E92 lease is almost up and I was thinking of the X5.
Do all the seats come out for hauling? thanks and Congrats!!!!
