Ordered a new 535xi

I ordered a new 535xi from dealer on July 24. Still no production date yet. Any ideas (roughly) when I can expect it to be built? How long from start of production (I hear production takes about a week) to delivery? Anyone have production dates yet on 535xi ordered in July? Thanks

2011 535xi Imperial Blue Metallic, Oyster/Black Nappa, dark wood, cold weather pkg, premium 1&2, active seats/ventilation, convenience pkg, smartphone integration

Each dealer has a production allocation for each month. They should be able to tell you!

Since the x models are only going into production early-mid Sept, assuming you got the dealer's September allocation soon after launch, I am going to say late Oct delivery. I have a week 35 build and my vehicle will arrive in Ontario last week of Oct.

Soon Ex:
Do you also check your vehicle production status using the 1-800 number?
I called this morning and the system says that my vehicle is "scheduled for production with no confirmed date yet". What does this mean? The only thing my dealer tells me is that it's a September build. Thanks

mpccpa,

At the very least your Dealer can (should) tell you the production week that your car is scehduled to be built. Just FYI, as an example, week 35 begins August 30th and ends on September 2. If your Dealer told you that you had week 35 production, it would technically mean that your car would be finished anywhere between those dates. Weeks 35 - 38......and most of 39 would be considered "September" build.

The 5 series is (i believe) taking roughly 7 business days to manufacture. Once it is finished, it should take anywhere between an aditional 4 to 6 weeks for you to get it. This of course depends on a lot of variables with the transportation, VPC, your Dealer get ready, and location. For the "first car" I ordered, (no combox...long story...second car on order) it took exactly 5 weeks from the date the car rolled off the line to when I would have picked it up at the Dealer....for St. Louis.

Hopes this helps.

Your dealer should have given you a production number, which you can enter into your profile on the BMW web site and track your car's progress that way. I've found that web site to be quite slow to update and can be weeks behind in accurate status. But for those (such as myself) who have forgotten the 800 number, it's the only way to go.

Ah ha! Thanks there SEAG.

Information is not available for Canada because you people (Canadians) seem to have the only healthy economy in the world, your dollar is rising in value making it difficult for the rest of us. As punishment, you don't get to use any more toll free numbers.

The 1-800 number says that my vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet. Does that mean that I am close? Ordered it on 7/24/10. Anyone else order a 535xi on/around that same date? Do you have a confirmed production date yet. All I can get from my dealer is production month = September.

Should be close. My car went from scheduled for production > in production > on a train > on a boat in one week.

I ordered it on August 23, from 1-800 number it told me that it's not scheduled yet, but my dealer told me that it's week 37, which would be the second full week of September

Just found out today from my CA that I'm a week 38 build. I assume that's the week of 9/20. Hopefully I'll have my new baby by November 1. Can't wait!!

Same here mpccpa!! Week 38 build then the long wait for crossing the pond. Spoke with my Sales guy and the folks @ BMWNA and they said Week 38 was the week of Sept. 20th. The waiting is definitely agony, but the result will be well worth it!! Congrats!!
