Anyone in for carbon fiber e92 kidney grills?

ryan at DTM said if i can get 10 buyers for a group buy on carbon fiber e92 kidney grills, he will make them.

I personally want one, and im hoping alot of you do as well. I personally think it will be much nicer than a blackout grill.

they are for the e92, i guess we could start a new list for the sedan. If you want one for the sedan, start a serperate list, im sure DTM will make if there is interest.

you can have the cabon kidney grills painted jet black yes, or u can just order a black grill...steve@tendrix has a few.

they are going to be actual carbon fiber, and there arn't any pictures because they havn't been made yet...DTM is willing to do this for us if there is a big enough demand!

again, real CF. THey will look awesome and will be made to our specific requests because they will be specially made "for" us.

cheers

Same here also

I'm in for the right price, it's better than painting existing or matte black plastic ones.

I will add myself to the list, but my involvement is price pending. If it's reasonable I am in. If not, I am out.

One question; how do you guys think these will hold up? Frankly, I've seen about a trillion and a half black painted grills and they all look like ass after a year (stone chips). I realize being full cf these will hold up better, but don't you think they will still get abused?

the ones that chipped are painted grills. When you buy the matte black one, or actual "shadow grills" the whole item is black, so if it chips it is still all black underneath. Being CF i think these will hold up much much better.

i mean we are comparing CF to chrome...

I'll add myself in for now, but my final decision will be price pending. Great idea though, and can we provide input to the actual design?

An idea regarding the potential chipping problem -- can one of those protective films be applied to each unit before they send them to us? Something like Stonguard (?) ... just an idea -- thoughts?
