oil change

can someone help me out here?

I have 2007 323i e90, warning signals are popping up on my dash saying I have low oil. I checked it and it says less than minimum which is not good.

I live in the eastend hamilton/stoney creek area, ontario. Can someone tell me a rough estimate of how much it will cost me for this?

Thanks,
Ricky

DIY for $50? I guess if you're more patient than me and order online because I got oil and filter at the dealer for ~$90 tax incl. Still would have been over 80 had I bought the oil at CT.

What are you asking? It sounds like all you need is a litre of oil. Go buy one for about $12 at the dealer.

I am not sure man, this is my first time having a BMW and I don't want to screw anything up, my apologies for not explaining well. I just started my car today and got a warning that my oil is low.

Thanks,
Ricky

the funny thing is.. I just got this car about 2 weeks ago from a dealership. I will be contacting them first. I haven't taken this car for any service.

Thanks,
Ricky

The dealer will top it up for sure for you then.

By the way, you should always keep an extra litre of oil in the trunk.

Good luck!

You just need to top it up, but if you still get an error after your top-up, there is a good chance that your oil level sensor failed.

I bought my 323i from Haldimand motors in Cayuga, I got a good price there. it's 2007 so it shouldn't eat too much oil right now. Any vehicle you buy from Haldimand motors, they give you 30 day warranty mechanical so I am also assuming they will top up the oil for me and change the filter.

Thanks though, really appreciate it.

if my oil level sensor goes corrupt than I can get it replaced for free since it falls under the mechanical category. I have warranty on this car still remaining.

Thanks,
Ricky

your car is 07 meaning you still have factory bumper to bumper warranty, no?
I'd take it to a dealer to replace a faulty oil sensor

Agree. All it needs is a top up. Depending on when they last changed oil/filter, you could do that as well but I believe a top up of oil is all that is required.

Is this a serious post? You own a car but do not know what to do if you are low on oil? Buy a litre of oil and put it in ASAP. Then get your car checked for leaks by a reputable dealer or garage.

yes, this is a serious post. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and I had a feeling my sensor is just all screwed up so I was worried.

This morning I went to BMW Toronto to get my oil topped off. I told them I didnt purchase my car from them. I gave them my keys, told them the story (i didnt even give them my name) and in 10 minutes I was off with oil gauge at 'max'. I was fully ready to pay for the top off service but they just smiled and sent me on my way. Thanks for the excellent experience.

That dealership rocks!!
