oil change
can someone help me out here?
I have 2007 323i e90, warning signals are popping up on my dash saying I have low oil. I checked it and it says less than minimum which is not good. I live in the eastend hamilton/stoney creek area, ontario. Can someone tell me a rough estimate of how much it will cost me for this? Thanks, Ricky

DIY for $50? I guess if you're more patient than me and order online because I got oil and filter at the dealer for ~$90 tax incl. Still would have been over 80 had I bought the oil at CT.

By the way, you should always keep an extra litre of oil in the trunk. Good luck! |

You just need to top it up, but if you still get an error after your top-up, there is a good chance that your oil level sensor failed.

your car is 07 meaning you still have factory bumper to bumper warranty, no?
I'd take it to a dealer to replace a faulty oil sensor

Agree. All it needs is a top up. Depending on when they last changed oil/filter, you could do that as well but I believe a top up of oil is all that is required.

yes, this is a serious post. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and I had a feeling my sensor is just all screwed up so I was worried.

yup, I called my local dealer and they said to bring it in so they can troubleshoot it with the keyfob, apparently that's all they need. Thanks for all the support guys!

This morning I went to BMW Toronto to get my oil topped off. I told them I didnt purchase my car from them. I gave them my keys, told them the story (i didnt even give them my name) and in 10 minutes I was off with oil gauge at 'max'. I was fully ready to pay for the top off service but they just smiled and sent me on my way. Thanks for the excellent experience.
