Halogen Lighting Options
Wsup guys,
Unfortunately I didn't get XENON's when I bought my car, so I'm stuck with Halogens for now. I'm currently using Sylvania SilverStar's H7 Halogens for my headlights... do any of you know an alternate, (BRIGHTER LIGHT), either blueish or white in h7 bulbs? Thanks!

You can get an HID H7 kit, which would be a lot brighter, as well as more expensive. HID Kits run around $250-$300. You'll probably want the Mtec HID Kit because it won't throw out an error with our car. You can get them for like $300 shipped from ebay. Even if the auctions are like $370 + $30 shipping, tell them you want it for $300 shipped, they'll let them go for that much.

Hey thanks for the repsonse.
Yeah, I can do that but is HID...Xenon? (Sorry kinda noob) lol. And if I do that conversion...Don't I have to take apart my lights...or can I have someone else install it for me?...I doubt I want to go into the wires without any instruction.

You have to drop your front bumper if you want to remove your lights for work. I installed Euro halogens recently. Caster, good info on the HID kits, didn't even know m-tech had one, thanks.

Its not the Xenon headlamp. It's just an HID kit, so intead of having halogen bulbs, you have HID bulbs (which have to be powered by a ballast, hense the HID kit). You don't have to remove the bumper, you just remove the wheel well, take out the original halogen bulb, put in the HID bulb, mount the ballast, connect everything, and you're good to go.
Heres a link to the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MTEC-...spagenameZWDVW Just drop em an email asking if they'd do $300 shipped. For the color I wouldn't go over 6000K, 8000K becomes pretty ricey and you lose a lot of light. Even at 6000K you lose light, but you get a hue of blue, 8000K is completely blue. 4350K is what the stock Xenons are, which produce the most light. Edit: to give you an idea my heres friend's tC w/ a Prolumen 6000K HID Kit And heres a pic of it during the day from the phootshoot I did w/ his car

Its pretty simple, look under your fender theres a plastic piece (wheel well) held by a couple of bolts (both inside the fender and under the front bumper) remove those, then there should be a couple of plastic casings that house the lights (I don't know how it looks or which one it is since I have Xenons and its different) and then you just open that, remove the halogen bulb, mount your HID balast somewhere simple, put in the HID bulb, connect everything together, put the plastic housing back, the wheel well back, and repeat for the next side and you're done. I think theres a DIY in the DIY section, which is more detailed then my post.
