Help! Spoiler defective? What to do?

I just ordered a Painted replica spoiler from a recognized vendor on this forum(which i won't expose yet) and wnated to knwo if I'm being too anal, or if I actually have a case...

I got the spoiler and just opened the package today and decided to snap a few pictures... These are the defects.

1. On one corner (edge) of the spoiler, there's a paint bubble. I mean, the camera doesn't do it justice, but in person it's pretty noticeable.

2. There seems to be a tiny chip that's been painted over.

3. The paint flaked off the inside... I mean, it won't be visible once it's on... but my biggest concern is that after it's been on the car for awhile -- with the presence of water and dust and the car's vibrations, it will start flaking off more and more -- which can be a potentially big problem.

Bear in mind that I ordered this spoiler knowing that the vendor GUARANTEED perfect fitment and finish. I won't reveal the vendor yet and will deny any questions asking who they are until you guys think I should take action and the vendor refuses to cooperate. I believe I'm taking this situation in a very level headed manner... so please let me know what you guys think and what I should do?

Thanks.

My suggestion is to contact the vendor and discuss these issues with him. If you are not satisfied with the quality you received, ask for an exchange or return the part for full refund and seek out another vendor if you don't have confidence with this one.

Sometimes its better to get your part painted locally once you receive it. Getting the part made, painted, and out to you in a timely manner...sometimes leads to some rushing of the vendor to get the part out (sucks, but it happens.) In addition, there can also be some damage during shipping/transport.

Contact the vendork, and express your concerns. If they are a good vendor, they will work out something with you to fix any issues.

I have experienced it when the painted product is placed in a tight box that it rubs against the cardboard therefore damaging the paint.

I would contact the vendor for a solution and see where it goes.

I think you have a case, most vendors want there products out there with satisfied customers. You should get a resolution one way or another.

well, the vendor said that their quality is superb and many vouch for him/them. So you think i should try to get a replacement?

The other thing is -- they said that they individually inspect each unit for perfect fitment/defects before being shipped out.

As for shipping, the unit wasn't tightly packaged... it was packaged well. Foam, them bubble wrap, then cardboard...

These vendors are great. They have a superb customer service and quality -- as witnessed by a lot of others. I paid for quality -- and that's what i expect. Albeit it may not be OEM, it's darn close.

as others have suggested, contact the vendor, and see what they say...
let us know what happens.

As for "you get what you pay for"... well, even the replicas are not cheap...

I have just received a PM from the vendor, and this is WHY i will continue to buy from him throughout the life of my e90.

Before revealing the vendor, I would like to say that they have offered me 3 possible solutions.
1. Full refund
2. Repaint spoiler
3. Brand new spoiler

The customer service from this vendor is phenomenal, and as I've expected from talking to him over the phone when first ordering, YOUR (the customer) BEST INTEREST is clearly their business plan.

I will be posting updates depending on progress.
