Just bought a new HU. What do I need to make it work?
So i going to buy a pioneer avic-x3 or something from a friend tomorrow.
what do i need do get it to work? i understand i need a bmw harness > iso harness converter but i also need a canbus adapter. am i right? or can they be combined into one thing?? i have searched, but i dont understand. so i would be happy if someone could link me a cheap and good solution. btw, will my aux work? thanks guys!! |

Good luck with this....aftermarket HU are a paint to install in our cars, especially if you have L7. Not sure about the parts needed but no your AUx will not work unless your new headunit has an aux port built in. You only need a can bus adapter for the steering wheel controls (I think). You might want to check into that harness that relocates the oem HU to the trunk so you can retain chimes and warning sounds, etc.
