i just got my first bimmer a month ago.... and the handling is awesome! (use to drive heavily modified japanese cars).... could you guys help me modifying it? it is all stock for now... planning to put 18's or 19's on it, front lip , rear window spoiler and a trunk spoiler. do you think its cool to heavily modify a bimmer or just keep it simple?

and also... i just had 3000 miles ( 1st month) on it and now its with the dealer.... my check engine light is on and they cant find whats wrong with it! damn.... is this what i have to expect owning a BMW?

Cool or not it is up to you, when you like do modifying it.

Personally I don't like the modded cars, especially when it isn't OEM. A Aero-package or M-sport Package and some bigger wheels sounds good to me as long it's from BMW.

When the dealer can't find anything or ignores the problem try to find result at another dealer. 3000 Miles shouldn't give problems already.

How bout' the beyern wheels? i heard that they make rims especially for bimmers.... should i go for 18 or 19? this is my daily car so im having doubts with 19's.

im scheduled to get back my car tommorow.... i hope they were able to fix it. My new year sucks because of this... oh well but at least i still got a BMW loaner car! it kinda suck but at least ur still driving a bimmer....

BMW modding is best when kept simple. Lip is fine (I particularly like the Hamman and Hartage ones), spoilers don't really work imo, but are also fine. RAC Monolites are nice wheels. As far as roof spoiler goes, I wouldn't do it with the trunk spoiler, its either one or the other, both of them is overkill.

Be sure to pick up the OEM chrome exhaust tips if you don't have them already, they're relatively cheap and look great compared to the stock raw metal ones.

Some small mods that you can do are 1. Blackline Taillights 2. OEM Rear Lip Spoiler 3. Brex/PIAA/LUX rings (search) 4. Euro style headlights

Those are all quite common mods among members here. Bodykits are also widely available, and I'd recommend going with a replica from either DTM or Europassion- they're stronger, more flexible, and a lot cheaper. Hope this helps.

If done with the right parts/taste a heavily moddified BMW can look amazing. Just keep in mind that a lot of parts do not make it look good, an overall vision that makes the car flow, and keep it clean does.

I have the 19" wheels with lower profile tires and the ride is fine. Its actually better than stock since I went with non-RFT's.

Bro i'd go with the new MORR ALLoys 162 19' Rims, they are like the sport package but better, those are the ones i have in my car. They are EXCELLENT and look AMAZING, also the price is EXCELLENT.

Don't forget the reflector delete (aka painted reflector) mod on the E92!

Do you have to buy a reserve tire too??? what if u get a flat tire? i dont wanna wait for a tow truck.... too much hassle

Oh yeah im about to ask you guys about the exhaust tip... thats the first thing on my list to change actually coz' i think the stock exhaust of 328 is hideous... it looks so cheap, i found one from ac schnitzer but its 500 bucks! i think thats too much..... theres one with Gibson exhaust twin pipe exhaust tip its cheap 50 bucks only but i dont know if it will fit..... do you recommend anything? thanks guys!

You can pick up a spare from a salvage yard, 3 series 2004 and up. Get the jack set while you at it. You also need a 15mm spacer. Or you can do what others are doing and get a fix a flat kit that has a plug and goo can. Some even have a small compressor to inflate the plugged tire.

all these answer'z are correct. but rememeber it'z urz. chesmu made the best point i think. its a BMW so dont jump on the WTF is that list. im doing a salary cap and savin to hit all i want by may 07. best of luck.

i just got my car back this week, and the problem was in the leak diagnostic pump, i ask the mechanic/engineer if i should worry and he said that its just a minor thing and this is not the first time that this happened.... is he correct by saying that i dont need to worry? remember my car got only 3000 miles and just over a month old when this happened.

and oh by the way i got the oem chrome exhaust tip for my car, now my exhaust doest look cheap it goes with my chrome plate frame too.... thanks guys!

im still having doubt about putting a larger rims and a non RFT tires..... is it worth the risk... i mean newer BMW's all have rft tires... i dont see why we have do down grade it to a regular tire....im just finding a balance between aesthetic but functional and just plainly superficial, i dont mean to offend anybody but im just saying.

I am not sure why you think its a downgrade? Pretty sure the new M3 will have 19" rims and non-RTF's. If your performance oriented its not a downgrade at all. If your modding for aesthetic reasons I think its even more of a reason to go to 19's since the car looks better IMHO.
