Deposit on the 1M
I've seen some people post that they have already put down a deposit on the 1M at their dealerships. Can you post how much you put down? I was at my dealership yesterday and they wanted $1k. I thought that was a bit steep, but I've never ordered a new car before. Thanks.

When I ordered my 135i European Delivery, I told the dealer I would put a $500 refundable deposit down. He accepted that.

I am in Australia and paid $5000, I could have argued, and they would have accepted it, but I wasn't in the mood that day. Just remember the car will cost over 100kAUD when it hits our shores.

I am sure that the car will be amazing, but I have a desire to drive one first. I know that demand may far outpace supply, but I plan or ordering my 1M to spec, and going for ED. I got burned previously on placing a deposit on a car, and it will take something exceptional to change my mind on doing it again.

Don't believe the first on the list story. Fields in Orlando told me the same thing last week. So how many first people are there? Too funny.

As far as a deposit is concerned, I have ordered three cars (two of them ED) and have never been asked for a deposit. When the numbers come out if I like them I will tell them to put me in for ED hopefully Aug or Sept, then two weeks before I go pick it up I pay them and all is done.

I put $500 down to be first on the list. I also went ahead and negotiated my price based off a fixed amount under MSRP. .
