VMR VB3 and Bridgestone Potenza S001 - pictures and review
I finally fitted my new wheels and tires...after only 2-3 weeks since the first toughts
Bought the VMR VB3 rims from JLeviSW...they had them in stock, which rarely happens (I read some horror stories of some people waiting 7 months for some CSL replicas). I chose Bridgestone S001 because it is the next generation after RE050A (a well respected tire), it is factory fitted to Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi RS5, Aston Martin Rapide and Lexus LFA. And all these at $25 more per tire compared to Hankook Ventus V12 ! The ride is perfect, about 20% less firm than with my stock RE050A runflats (not more than that !). The S001 is a performance tire, and has a stiff sidewall, but still not as stiff as the runflats. The rim offsets are absolutely perfect for LCI, nu rubbing at all, and maintaining a quality OEM look. Rims: VMR VB3 Super Silver, 18x8.5ET40 front, 18x9.5ET45 rear Tires: Bridgestone Potenza S001, 235/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear Pictures below...

Its amazing how just a simple set of wheels make a huge difference in the overall stance and style the car gives off... Looks great!

Yes, I think you can. Right now there is a 5-7mm gap left between the tire and the strut. With a 245 the gap would remain about 2-3mm, I think. Also there are some people on the forums using 245 in front with +40 offset on a 8.5" rim.

I'm from Europe...all the current sizes are available there. If I were in the US right now and I would want a performance tire at a similar price I would look at Bridgestone RE050A non-rft (the RFT has a bad reputation but the RE050A non-rft is a very respected tire in the sports car world). Pirelli PZero also wins about every performance tire test...
