New M3 Coupe Owner
Hey guys, I just got my new M3 Coupe. It is Moonstone in colour, 19" Wheels. Looks great. Picked it 3 days before flying to the USA for a month (I am still here writing this). I am curious if anybody has tried/used the Police Laser defending systems that are advertised, mainly in WA?

A bit paranoid about having any kind of radar detection gizmo, fines and confiscations, as such have never looked into it. But what I can say is that you might enjoy these images...... http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=270318&page=5 nice! |

Don't mind if I ask if it is a Universal Hi-Tech Muffler with custom connecting pipes or is it a Mille Miglia muffler ?

How much does the axle-back cost and who is the agent in Australia?

I've seen several videos from Mille Miglia/Hi-Tech and AlpineM3E92's. Sounds very refined and aggressive. Doesn't appear to be obnoxiously loud. Quality wise, it appears to look good in pictures. As I have never seen it in person, I can't be certain. I am aware of at least 1 E46 M3 CSL owner in WA who is currently using a Mille Miglia muffler and he seems happy with it. Still undecided between Mille Miglia and Meisterschaft GTC with electronic valve. I am not aware of any Mille Miglia or Hi-Tech agent in WA. You may have to purchase direct from them. To OP: Not quite sure what laser defending systems you are refering to. If you are refering to Laser Jammers, they are illegal all over Australia. Radar Detectors at this moment is still legal. You'll find the newly rolled out new cams both multanovas and red light/speed cameras rendering our conventional radar detectors useless. Although lasers can be detected by radar detectors, they provide instant speed readings to the operator, hence giving you no chance at all to slow down. Old School hidden speed cams uses radio frequencies which gives you anywhere from 1-20 seconds of warning depending on terrain and conditions. The newer "Instant On" old school hidden speed cams also provides too little time for you to slow down as well as they only turn on about few metres either before or after you pass them. You can use radar detectors to sniff out highway patrols. Naturally if highway patrols do not turn on their radar, you do not get any warning at all. Some cops turn on 24/7 and you tend to pick them up early. Some highway patrols can be sneaky by turning them on at the very last minute when they are right behind you. By the time you get the warning, the cops already have your speed reading. At the end of the day, radar detectors are not supposed to save you from 200kph tickets. I use them for fear of unknowingly exceeding the speed limit by 10kph or so. With the new cameras, I now spend more time scanning my speedo than I do on roads. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys for all the posts, have just arrived back in Australia from a month in the USA. AudiSR5, that would be the right RRP price, I was quoted $199K. Didn't pay that much of course, had a trade and went in at the end of the month.
