Thinking about upgrading to 135i

I need your guys opinions. I have been in contact with a member in FL about taking over his lease. He doesn't want any lump sum and will pay for the transfer and the shipping of the car. He has a low post count but joined several years ago so it seems legit. He also sent me some pictures which match the description and my bs meter hasn't gone off yet. What do you guys think? I also would need to sell my current car and I have no idea about how to do that.

Here is the thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406930

The 135i is a good car. I'd definitely see if you can find a way to drive one before pulling the trigger on this though - maybe one of the 1Addicts guys or local CCA members will give you a ride and let you kick the tires on their ride.

Good idea. I haven't driven one, but I'm not really a fan after just sitting in it at the dealer. NA/FI aside, the 1 is too small for me, but I am used to a sedan and that's just my preference.

I'd make sure you can unload your car first.

Also wouldn't do it sight unseen. You can get a one-way ticket from Logan to FL for under $200 - I'd check it out before I signed anything, if it works out you can drive it back.

I drove a 1er for a couple days when my car was in for service. Really fun car to drive, more so than the 3. Not for me though as I need space for the kids.

I have no experience on a lease takeover but the 135 is a fun car.
If you're not the small car type than this might not be the car for you.
I'm waiting for the release of the 1M and if pricing is right, could be my next car

Why not just get a new 135i. The lease payment will be the same and you will get a new one.

I would have to put a lot of money down to get the lease payment that low, and the seller does not want any cash down. I could bank the difference between my loan and the sale and pay about the same as I do now monthly.

Are you sure? I just did some quick math and I think you can get darn close to 490/month or under that on a 2010...

http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/2...february-2010/

I guess the money factors are way down from a year ago as well as the factory incentives currently being offered on the 2010 135i. I bet you can get a better deal on a new one.

My math was based on the Money factor and residuals provided in that link on a 3 year 15k per year no money down. Also assuming you can negotiate down to invoice, which is what edmunds is saying the 2010s are going for.

OK I did some better math and I am seeing 550/month with those numbers. But keep in mind this is a 15k miles per year lease and the guy is offering you ~10k per year.

Thanks for doing the math. I am not familiar with how lease payments are calculated. I drove a 128i loaner and I fell in love with it. I like my car but I wish it had more power. I feel like it might be too soon to sell my car though since i've only had it for about 16 months. Also, I am interested in seeing how the 1M turns out. I told the seller I couldn't deal with such the long distance so I guess I really have to do some analysis.

If I wasn't married with kids i'd be all over the 135. And I would be dropping the 135i for the m version as soon as it came out.

But since I am married with kids. I drive a 335xi, and learn to live with it.
