Vent sunroof from open position
I hate asking these "how do I..." questions.
Had an '07, and I could vent the sunroof by pressing the control button regardless of the current position of the sunroof. So if the sunroof was fully open, I could press the button and the roof would close, then vent. With the '11, I can only vent the roof if it's fully closed first. So it's a two-step process - push the button forward to close the roof, wait until it's fully closed, then push the button to vent the roof. At what point in the production run did this change? Is this new for '11, or am I the only one blessed with this particular behaviour?

I noticed this on my 09 recently as well. I had the sunroof fully open and wanted to change it to the vent position, but had to first fully close it and then vent it.

It's not a problem with the roof. BMW changed the software on how it works. I do miss this functionality on my 09 also.

I seriously hope this wasn't due to a liability issue on BMW's part, to idiot-proof the sunroof operation:
Quote:
I can forgive them for removing the '06 auto-folding-mirrors functionality, as you had no choice if you wanted the mirrors left unfolded. By contrast, you could always push-to-vent or push-to-close, so making the vent operation a two-step process seems pointless. Patrys, can you code this?

That's annoying. Wish my sunroof could vent at all though.
