1st gear problem(steptronic)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had this small problem. When I drive with paddle shifters or steptronic, the computer doesn't allow me to shift into 1st gear from second although I should be able to. The computer doesn't like me downshifting into first unless I am pretty much completely stopped.

Also, when in first, my car auto shifts at around 6k rpm, but in second, it goes to redline(7k). Is this normal?

hmm, that's strange. I'm able to downshift into 1st basically within the correct engine speed of course. I am also able to redline and hit the rev limiter on each gear. Idk if it's the same for the GM transmissions found in your car but I'd figure I'd share my experience.

What speed you down shift to the 1st?

You don't really want to downshift into first while moving tho...it's bad for the tranny
