Misaligned Rear Interior Trim
Hello,
Today I noticed that the trim on my rear driver side window was not aligned flush, with the clips that hold the trim on clearly visible through the rear window. When checking the passenger side, it was flush with the window, as designed. I had my rear bumper repaired/repainted and the driver's side tail light replaced about a month ago due to a motorized scooter colliding into the car, but I do not believe they would have touched the rear interior trim to do the repair. I will ask the body shop tomorrow (BMW Certified). Does this appear to be a manufacturer's defect, and will the dealer repair it under warranty? The car is a 2009 328 xDrive Coupe. I've attached some pictures - a little hard to make out due to the sunlight, but it is definitely visible upon physical inspection. Thoughts? |

If they are anything like older 3 series door panels, those retaining clips just need a good push to clip in properly. Before going to the dealer get in the back seat and try to push the panel in with your hands. More than likely it will clip into place. Quit drifting in parking garages bro and stuff like this wont happen haha

Just a quick update - went to the dealer the technician was able to get it fixed. He had to use a tool to spread the clips out a bit more to allow them to grip, and it snapped into place
