Um, yeah? Hey, do you have any pictures of a tire? I'm sure lots of us have never seen one of those either.
Sorry, I know I'm a snot. I can't help it.

Actually, this one is different than the one on my 325 sport.
It has extra bumps above where your thumbs would be. My sport wheel has a consistant round cross section. |

Yes, this is different than the one in a 330i with sport. The two bumps are like on an M wheel.

You mean you can use the cell phone, shave and shoot other drivers with just one hand? You're pretty freakin' talented...
P.S. I'm hoping you were being as sarcastic and dumb-assed as I am, because otherwise my face is red and you need to go back to driving school... Quote:

I 'm driving a loaned 325i that was registered in the UK in July and it has exactly the same steering wheel.
Just seen my new 320d SE (just arrived at the dealer - I take delivery next week) and it came fitted with the same wheel ( I ordered the sports wheel back in July). Great to hold ......vey comfortable! |

Have either of your cars (loaned or new) got the titanium trim and if so, do they have the titanium infill on the sports steering wheel? |

No, the 325i has the brushed aluminium trim so according to my dealer, the sports wheel stays sort of anthracite colour.
However when I ordered my 320dSE, I was going to order it with the basic matt aluminium trim that comes as standard but I was told that if I ordered the sports wheel, it would come with a matt aluminium inlay on the spokes. They showed me a car with one fitted and didn't like it. I saw it when the sun was shining in through the righthand side of the car and it made the spokes quite bright which i thought would annoy me. I decided to order light poplar instead which means that the wheel spokes remain anthracite. Mine looks great with the light poplar against the black interior. I wasn't keen on the brushed aluminium by the way..........it looked as though someone had gone over it with emery cloth! I didn't have the choice of titanium when I ordered mine! |

E90 Fleet,
Yes, they're on the 325i that I'm driving at the moment and my new 320dSE definitely has them as well. Have just come back from seeing it again! The salesman showed me 5 cars that had been delivered to the dealer on Friday with the sports wheel. 3 have got the thumb grips (including mine) and 2 haven't. Guess I've been lucky! |

I really liked the inlays on the steering wheel so hopefully as I have got titanium trim I won't be dissapointed. As for thumb rests I'm not bothered either way - I hold the wheel in the bottom half anyway! If anything, they might annoy me if they slightly intrude into my view of the instruments. |

I think the common name for the bumps is "palm swells"...
Weird that they couldn't get that ironed out on earlier cars, but not a big deal. -Peter |
