e92 suspension - extremely hard impact over bumps
There are lots of nice twisty roads around my house, but every once in a while you get a surprise dip/bump in the road. Unfortunately they seem to always be in the apex of an awesome sweeping turn.
My question is: These bumps rear their ugly heads when my suspension is already substantially compressed from the turn and acceleration out of the turn. When I hit them it feels like the bump causes my car to reach the "end" of the suspension... and the impact just jars the car. Kind of like slamming a rock on the ground... I assume there are stops or something that are causing this, but what is really going on? Is this damaging to the car, or just annoying when it happens? |

If your car still drives fine/straight afterwards, then I would doubt any damage occurred. However, it's simply more wear and tear on your cars suspension parts.
