N52 Engine issue

So i have a question for everyone:

1st question:

When i start my car every am i step on the gas and my rpm raises however my mph barely increases. Is that normal? I am on D drive. Auto

2nd question:
I was on freeway today, I was in M6 going 60+. There was a traffic jam, so i slowed to 25 mph, and i manually adjusted to M3. I waited 2 sec before stepping on gas. When i stepped on gas rpm raises, speed does not, after 1 -2 sec it feels as if the gear adjusted and it was fine. Is that normal for our gears to adjust that damn slow?

i'm not really sure about your first question, but as to your second one, the same thing happens to me and its the steptronic transmission, since i have had the problem on other cars. If u are in D mode, and slam on the gas pedal, there is about a one second delay before the car shifts down and u can hear it roar. I've had it happen many times while driving and it is quite annoying, but it's the price you pay unless you manually change gears. I heard that the software chip for the 128i deletes this, but I don't have it

I don't have the auto but it sounds like the tranny fluid is gone in your transmission. how many kms/miles are on it?

Or DTC, for that matter.

Bout 11k.I just went to the dealer. The tech just told me that its normal for my car to take so long to change gears. They told me its normal sometimes for car to act like it was on N in the am cause its trying to warm itself up. As with the gear changing for the 2nd statement, it does take a few sec for the system to detect and change gear itself when im in M mode.

true with most modern autos with a tourque converter the computer will not let the tourque converter fully engage until the engine is fully warmed up. So you will see slippage until the computer gives the ok. Does this ever happen later in the day after the car is fully warmed up.

I too just started getting this problem and I've had my car for two years now. This past week, I almost got nailed making a left turn because there was no power when I hit the gas. It took about a second before the transmission slapped into gear.

I have never noticed this problem before.
