New car, Klasse application question?

Is it necessary to use a striping style soap, ala Zaino and dawn, before I apply Klasse for the first time? I picked up my car last week and I'm not really sure if the dealer waxed it or not. The water beads but that might just be attributed to the new paint. Will Klasse bond to a waxed surface? Thanks in advance.

If you are using AIO you do not need to strip the car, as AIO will strip it for you. If you are not using AIO you will need to strip any wax layer, as HGSG will not bond to a wax.

Personally I would recommend striping the car anyway. You do not need to dawn, you can simply use a 50/50 solution of alcohol and water (regular 70% isopropyl alcohol); spray a panel and wipe off. This will strip any wax layer.

IMO I would use DAWN for your detail wash (better at removingt grease).
Then Clay Bar (remove rail dust, sap, enviro contaniments(sp?)).
Then AIO and SG.

I just did my regular wash, then polished with AIO and sealed with the SG, and I'm very happy with the results.

Beautiful Hawkshaw. I did the same exact thing and was very impressed with Klasse as well. I bought clay bar, but didn't use it. In the end, even though the shine was incredible, in certain lighting at specific angles, you can see small water marks in mine, so I'll be doing a vinegar bath this weekend and starting from scratch. Vinegar wash, dawn wash (neutralize acid), clay bar, AIO and finally SG. Its gonna take a lot of Coronas

I'd admire you patience! Ideally, I'd love to do all of those things but at the same time I don't want to throw an entire saturday or sunday at the car. I am, however, going to do a second coat of SG this weekend.

Good luck!
