I personally wouldnt use them..mainly because of the lower profile tires will hit berms more easily and get ruined quickly. I have done 19"s once..but it was in the rain and only for two sessions. I couldnt put on my 18" track wheels with R compounds....due to rain.

MORR wheels were fine. Just don't hit anything.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

As long as you don't hit anything, and you wash your wheels after the event, you should be fine. I've tracked my old B7 A4 with 19" wheels (polished lips) before, and they were fine.

I just switched to having a dedicated set of track wheels and tires. I was using my street 19's and the night before the even hit a pot hole at pre-registration. Bent the wheel and ruined the tire. That was enough of a message for me. Going to 18's get you a little more rubber and then a lighter set of wheels that I don't worry about getting banged up (cause you know they will).

No issues. Watch out for the rumble pads though. Hope you aren't going staggered wheel setup for the track ...

Not an issue but not ideal either. I just did an event on Monday with my 19's and no problems at all. As brother jgalaxy said, a square setup is a better idea for the track though.
I would recommend a car wash after the event, at least the wheels just to be on the safe side I guess.

Wait for them to cool down before washing them though. They will be hotter than you will ever imagine. I checked my rotors after a 20 minute session; after a cool down lap, and driving through the pits, getting out of the car and checking them with a thermo gauge... 850 degrees. And I was only a novice driver too. Cant imagine once I started getting better and braking later.
