If the Z06 wasn't on the list I'd say it was THE all-star of that group.

Correction. Automobile mag picked the entire 3 Series as All Stars, not just the 335. The featured picture just happened to be of the 335i Coupe.

Forgive me but I'm not ready to concede to your "correction" just yet, you are going to have to work a little harder at it, maybe a geat deal harder. I can see why you are so quick to publish such a notion because the article specific to the BMW is titled, "BMW 3-series" and uses that phrase throughout the article to praise the virtues of 3-series cars in general but there is only one specific model that they discuss in detail and that is the "335i Coupe". I hold the Automobile magazine in my hands and it's clear when reading the entire article that ten specific cars have been picked and the 2007 BMW 335i coupe, the same car in the picture, is one of the ten cars. Why do you suppose the magazine lists the ten cars with each car's specific model#, it's HP and torque #'s, it's base price, the specific engine(i.e."Turbocharged 3.0L"), etc., etc.??

Ummm, perhaps this sentence from the article might clear your vision:

Walk up to a 3-series--whether coupe, sedan, wagon, or convertible--and you'll be impressed by the attention to detail in both design and quality

Yup, just like I've already said before, the article says nice things about the 3-series model line, just like they say nice things about the Mercedes S-class model line, but they have picked only ten specific cars, not the entire model line up. Again I ask: "Why do you suppose the magazine lists the ten cars with each car's specific model#, it's HP and torque #'s, it's base price, the specific engine(i.e."Turbocharged 3.0L"), etc., etc.??"

The online site I referenced at the beginning of this thread also features a picture gallery of the ten 2007 All Star Cars as well as the exhaust sound in audio clips for each car. Again, why do you suppose they only picture the 2007 BMW 335i coupe in that gallery and why to they specifically identify the 335i coupe as being the exhaust note from one of the ten All Star cars?

Though its an incredibly stupid argument, I going to have to go with bmerboy, the main focus in the article is the 335, yes they tell you about multiple engines and body configurations, but they don't go into the detail that they do about the 335, heck they even talk about BMW's turbo heritage. Either way its good news that we should all be happy about.
