Thumbs up Best Drag technique with MT 335i

Couple questions for you experts out there driving MT (+/-JB3)..
- On launch, what RPM do you rev to?
- Any use starting in 2nd gear?
- Slowly ease clutch out, not dump?
- What RPM do you shift at? redline? some other RPM to maximize torque?
- when shifting, do you get a lot of bog problems? I'm hoping the bogfix will help with this.

Thanks!

asking general questions will not get you the answers you want. What mods? drag radials?

one thing I can tell you is you will fry your clutch lovely starting in 2nd gear

Ah good point. I just have JB3 and AFE DCI with stock sport rims RFTs, cdv replaced. JB3 version is 2.0 4/22 with the bogfix.

What i do..

-Hold at 3k
-No 1st gear only
-Quickly ease clutch out... not drop it..
-Right before Redline
- No bog with JB3 2.0 !

Thats how Ive done it.. maybe no the best .. but its worked good for me.

how i did it and ran 12.7 @ 110 on your setup was like this

:1st Gear
:2400 Rpm
:Slip Clutch About 40% Out
:Shift At 6300rpm
:ride 3rd gear to about 100mph then shift,

have fun breaking 13's!

And this was with DCT completely off? How much wheel spin? Did you just do a quick burnout to get the tires warm?

I too was wondering @ what rpms to shift. Not sure if my 6AT would let me shift @ 6300rpms while WOT...

look at your dyno graph and see at what RPMs you can shift so that you stay in max power range most of the time...there's no such thing as "the" RPM to shift, every car is different

i dont get it best I ran was 14.1 stock... My first run, while trying to heat up the tires, the clutch took a beating. Looks like there was too much glue and the tires didnt rip completely.
