angel eye problem..separate fuses?

replaced my angel eyes to LED but the drivers side is not functioning at all..i will try and switch around the lights tomorrow and see if it is indeed the bulb (major pain)...but say it isnt the bulb..are there two separate fuses for each angel eye light? if so, maybe one of the fuses blew when the wires crossed and the car was on testing the other light?

There are different things it could be. If not fuses, it could be the bulb itself, did u check to see if the bulb works in the other housing?

I know I blew my cig lighter fuse during my rixterboost gauge install. Took me awhile to find the fuse with all the weird symbols.

Search the forums there will be someone here with the info for you.

What brand/type of angel eyes do you have?

Have you tried swapping it over to the left/right side to isolate the problem?

Also, be sure to check for the +/- connection and not get them mixed up

Sounds like the FRM has cut power to the socket (safety feature if a fault was detected), this will need to be reset at your dealer.

This can possibly be reset with the BavTech tool, I haven't tried since we primarly use the autologic.

No, replace the WeissLicht with your OEM bulbs to allow your technician to troubleshoot properly. If the problem happens again - then you know it is related to the kit.

once you get the bulb error, hurry and change back to your oem bulbs...saves you a trip to the dealer....

Pop your OEM bulbs in, wait until it comes on, then pop your LEDs back in. There is no fuses from what I know, as Tom@EAS said, the FRM has cut power. This happened to me 2 times before, and I just put the OEMs back in, then waited, both times it came back on.

Hi, my led angel eyes of both side (right and left) went out suddenly at the same timing last week and been searching related post too. I haven't tried yet to put halogen back but E90 is time consuming to change the bulb.. need to put off wheels...
Miko226, it would be great help if you could post the outcome.

I tried yesterday a couple different scenarios of cycling the oem bulb reseting the battery then again with led and still nothing.. did it one more time and put the oem bulb back in hoping it would come to on its own and it has not yet... i checked the wires as far as i could see for the h8 angel eye and all of them on the drivers side had dry rotted under the rubber housing covered the three wires that should be coated aswell but most of the rubber had dried and cracked off so all of the copper was touching each other.. i divided the wires and wrapped them in electric tape hoping that would be a quick fix to the problem however my oem bulb still has not reset or responded at all and the bulb malfunction message appears on the dash... not sure if the copper on copper caused another problem just really frustrating that i may have to visit a dealer now because i am out of ideas on how to fix it really not looking forward to going because of a light bulb kind of ridiculous if you ask me

Same exact thing happened to me and it ended up shorting my FRM module. i found this as a great opportunity to upgrade mine, though. If everything is sealed up properly you will need to try to reset the FRM in your car to see if it has indeed shorted to the point of no return.

You can do it yourself if you are familiar with coding, if not then you might need to take it to the dealer to get it reflashed

I had the same problem with my OEM Valeo Angel eyes on my 07 328i. I found that the copper was touching each other and the rubber had dried off. My passenger side lowbeam was out. I then replaced my headlight modules with Halogen LED ones from ANZO. Still the passenger side low beam is out. It looks like an issue with the FRM. How do i reset the FRM? Also, if the resetting doesnt work, how can I replace the FRM if it is short? Where is this FRM unit located (i.e., how to reach there?
