Low oil warning on brand new 328xi

After driving about 3 miles from picking up the car the low oil warning symbol (the amber one) came on. It was Sunday evening so I couldn't head right back to the dealer. After checking, the oil level sensor says I'm down 1 qt. I know early on there were software and sensor problems. Can I assume these have probably been fixed and I'm really down a quart? Anybody have this experience recently?

Yes, I'm going to do that but am I safe in assuming that it really is a quart low and not a sensor or software problem? I'd like to spin by and have them add a quart and not worry that I'm over-filling. I wish a dipstick was still used (in addition to the sensor, just as a back-up).

Update-

I was never really convinced that the car was a quart low. One time I did a check whan the car was cold and it showed full. The next day I did a check with the car at running temp. and it showed it to be more than a quart low! However, for the past 200 mi no warnings and checks of the oil level when warm shows full. I guess the problem went away but I'm still going to keep an eye on it and probably have the sensor replaced at my first oil change.
