Steering Wheel

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel button cover? I would like to wire one of the buttons for a different function. I do not have bluetooth, so the button is currently not functional. Just need to figure out how to remove the plastic plate.

I've done a search, but was unsuccessful at finding anything.

Take a look here:

Looks like there are 3 screws at the back of the steering wheel that hold on the front plate with the buttons. But from what I see, the horn/airbag prevents the removal of the surrounding piece so you'd have to remove the airbag first. I think you'll have to take the whole wheel off just to remove that particular frame from the steering wheel face. Take a look at the 4th and 5th photos of the 3rd set in that post and you'll see what I mean.
