New policy for winter ED with sport package: snows available

Just heard that snow tires will be available for purchase or rent(!) on EDs of cars with sport package (and summer performance tires). All Seasons may also be swapped for real snow tires, but that does not seem as critical.

Nice job ED team!

Details ($) will follow when I get more info.

Nice! For areas that get a lot of snow, that is important.

It is a legal requirement in Germany to have snow tires on your car, when driving in snow conditions. So this is probably just BMW covering their

While that has been the typical reaction I got from Americans when referring to European geography, I had hoped the Canadian school system was a bit better.

That's great to hear. I've been planning to do ED on an E92 335, but figured I would have to wait until May at least to avoid the possibility of snow (planning to drive up into the Alps). I've been hoping they would do something like this. Where did you hear this? Do you have any more details?

Cool. Now what about Performance Center Delivery in SC?

(I'm hoping to take delivery in South Carolina on 1/26/2007, then spend the weekend driving up to New England. Could be clear, could be ice, could be snow, will almost certainly be cold. I don't want to do that on tires that aren't much good below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.)
