Clean silver trim around windows

Don't know what they're called, but the aluminium looking things that go around the windows, how can I make them look better?
Washing doesn't work.

First thing is that avoid alcal based pre-washing liquids. Most often car washing machines use alcal based liquids because it is much cheaper than non alcals.

NOTE! Mouldings are not made by chrome, so do not press to much!

SONAX Chrome & AluPaste
Care agent containing polish, for aluminium and trim metals such as copper, brass and chrome. Removes rust and blind spots quickly and thoroughly, dissolves dirt and corrosion, restores the original shine and leaves a protective film.

Thanks, I'll try that one!
Nice when it's something that's easy to get a hold of, Sonax I'll find for sure.
