Combo ED and F1 trip....plus Q's on fare rates

I want to combine an ED for a 335 with one of the F1 races in Europe. I noticed on the Expedia and Lufthansa websites that if you book after September 10th, the rates are roughly 1/2 of the rates earlier in the summer. Is there a reason for the dramatic price reductions in fares? I don't REALLY want to wait till September, although this would be perfect timing for the Grand Prix of Belgium on September 19. It would give me some more time to save some more for the down payment I suppose. I have to drive on the Autobahn and see an F1 race if i'm going to be in Europe...two things on my life "to do list".

I think you answered the question yourself, the rates go down because it's not summer (for all intents and purposes, the calendar not withstanding).

Having lived and driven in Europe including the autobahn in Germany and the autostrada in Italy, I agree you have to do it if you have a chance. As far as the airfares, yes there is a dramatic decrease after the summer tourist season. I also believe that Lufthansa and BMW have a deal that the second fare is free or at least half price. You ought to take someone with you. Have a great time. You will really enjoy Munich, the BMW museum and the delivery. Also, if you have a chance go to Stuttgart and visit the MB museum and Porsche factory.

That's what I thought. Post summer rates. I've already got my buddy on board for the 2 for 1. I can get round trip from LAX for around 600 bucks in September so thats only 300 split between two. Kinda of a no brainer for a once in a lifetime opportunity. I just don't see myself going to Indianapolis for F1. Plus, I love the Spa Francorchamps racecourse. Thanks for your input. I'm already getting excited about the idea of this trip.

Are you certain that this fare qualifies for the 2 for 1?

Great idea with doing ED and an F1 race. I went to the European Grandprix this year on my ED and it was an awesome trip. Wish I could have gone to Spa but the Nurburgring was awesome too. Just make sure to do your research and get a hotel room EARLY! I repeat, EARLY. I got mine about 4 months in advance and I really should have done it sooner. Now would be a good time Don't forget to stop by the nurburgring to do some laps, it's not that far from Belgium.
