Need Advice..How to tell your girl she needs to go to the gym????

exactly what the topic says. We've been together for a year, and we're pretty serious. from the time that we started dating to now she probably put on about 15-20lbs...and i kind of want to nip it in the butt now...the main issue is that i know it's really affecting her..by that i mean she won't go to certain places or do certain things because she feels out of place because of her weight...and she's only about 150lbs now...i try to take her to the gym with me all the time but she doesn't want to go...How do i convince her that it's really time to start working out and get back in shape...

Only advice is saying "Hey honey, why don't we go to the gym together? It will be more time we are together." I don't know. So many ways that could go sooo wrong.

This what i would do: Stop asking her to go to the gym with you, dont act like lilttle girl, act like a man, come home one day, tell her to get ready to go with you and dont give her much of a choice, just tell her get ready we are leave in 15mins, be a man and make her follow you,(dont be a forceful dushbag lol) just be a man.

I had the same dilemma except my girl is 5'3 125ibs. She used to be 112-115ibs. I don't mind the extra as much, but that stomache needs to stay flat and love handles can't be around. I'm a gym rat myself and stay in great shape. My exact words to her was, if I stay in shape and take care of my body for you, the least you can do is return the favor. I'll make sure to comment on other girls bodies when we're watching a movie.

She goes to the gym now and down to 118ibs from last month.

Damn that's a tough one! You know maybe she just needs a structured program. Sometimes girls (and guys too) can get intimidated about going to the gym especially if they feel like they are out of shape. Maybe that's why she doesn't want to go with you. So maybe see if she wants to try something at home like p90x. Or otherwise maybe when you go to the gym, try to take a class with her. Something fun like cardio kickboxing, spinning or even yoga if you are willing to do it. Maybe the class environment will appeal to her more than just aimlessly running on treadmills or grabbing free weights. Of course that will mean that you will have to alter your own routine...
